The CNI nickel iron project is located on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. It is a joint EPC general contracting project between China Enfei and Indonesia's large engineering construction enterprise PT PP. The project adopts the company's RKEF technology, including the company's core expertise in laterite nickel ore electric furnace smelting technology, low heat loss high-temperature calcination conveying technology, etc. The annual ore processing capacity is about 872500 tons (dry basis), and the production of nickel iron is about 57300 tons/year (including 22% nickel). The project consists of five main parts: RKEF smelting plant area, smelting plant auxiliary facilities, public utilities, office and living areas, and external facilities. The first phase design scale is one 72MVA rectangular nickel iron electric furnace production line, which was launched in mid June 2022.

CNI Corporation is a local private enterprise in Indonesia, with abundant nickel ore resources in Southeast Sulawesi Province. As a representative in response to the Indonesian government's policy of encouraging nickel ore smelting and accelerating downstream nickel industry chain production, The CNI nickel mining development project has been included in Indonesia's national strategic project list. After the project is fully completed, it will process 3.78 million tons of dry base ore annually and produce 22% grade nickel iron, equivalent to an annual production of 55600 tons of nickel metal. One phase of the project is to set up a 72 megavolt ampere electric furnace RKEF production line independently innovated by China Enfei, with an annual output of 13900 tons of nickel metal. After completion and operation, it will become the first rectangular large electric furnace nickel iron production line in the Indonesian smelting field. CNI will also build a High Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL) smelter to produce 40000 tons/year of Nickel Cobalt Hydroxide (MHP) containing nickel metal for the production of new energy batteries.
